Brazilian festival awards ‘Limbo’

The Alter do Chao Film Festival in Brazil awards Iranian short film ‘Limbo’.

The Alter do Chao Film Festival in Brazil has awarded Iranian short film ‘Limbo’.

Directed by Qasideh Golmakani, the 14-minute film is about a former Iraqi sniper who immigrated to Iran after he had taken part in several wars in his country and experienced depression.

He has begun to get tattooed on his body with the names of all those he had killed in the wars.

His last tattoo is set to be done by a young artist, but the sniper asks him to do something else, according to a synopsis for the film.

‘Limbo’ had taken part in several festivals, including the Show Me Shorts Film Festival in New Zealand, the Cinequest Film and VR Festival in the US, and the Seoul International Extreme-Short Image & Film Festival in South Korea.

The 2020 edition of the Alter do Chao Film Festival took place online due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The festival began on December 9 and ran until Sunday.
